House of Hope
Located in La Pointe, Haiti, the House of Hope was founded in 1950 by Ms. Caroline Bradshaw as a separate ward of the local hospital. Today, the facility is operated by Jenny Reitz and Linda Felix. Linda brings understanding and compassion to her position as administrator, having been in the care of the House of Hope as a child
Children admitted to the House of Hope suffer from malnutrition and tuberculosis. Some have multiple handicaps. Here children receive medical treatment for all these diseases and other medical conditions. Some of the children die due to delays in sending them to the hospital for treatment
Many are cured and return home but many others ore abandoned or become orphaned. This may be because their parents have died of the some diseases. In many cases, their parents or relatives will abandon them at the hospital because they are too poor to feed an extra mouth or pay for the treatment and they would rather leave their children where they know that they will be cared for.
house of hope provides:
24-hour care and rehabilitative therapy to children suffering from handicaps, malnutrition, tuberculosis and other diseases.
Funding Required
House of Hope: $57,000.00

However, Linda Felix and Jenny Reitz, who have worked for many years with great compassion and affection for these children, has committed herself to running an orphanage where they can be properly looked after.
